This is a model made by David Jasie using the Abbott Downing Mail Coach plans by Wagonmaster. David said, "The wood is African mahogany, the metal is all Brass, and the leather is brown calf skin. The mahogany is died red with a gloss lacquer finish to look like a Wells Fargo coach. I did not use a light yellow color for the running gear as I like the natural look of the wood to define the model. The top of the carriage is covered with an off white canvas material. The material on the inside is one picked out by my wife. It is not traditional but looks very good." |
